My favorite stock artists on deviantArt, for my own reference, but also in case anyone wants some pretty sweet stock images (though most of these people are fairly well-known).

  • ahrum-stock has the most insane poses. Seriously HQ dude.
  • mjranum-stock has an incredible range of poses, costumes, models, lighting, and angles. Also verrryyyy HQ.
  • senshistock has so many stock photos available it blows my mind. Not many different setups, but she always has unique poses and props.
  • fairiegoodmother I just think the female model is really pretty.
  • yellow-stock more pretty ladies, I’m sensing a pattern.
  • felixdeon this dude has some of the weirdest gay fetish stock ever (that’s not true) but he also has an extensive gallery of male nude stock photos which is pretty hard to come by (heh heh come by).

Probably will add to this later as I rediscover photos. Enjoy if anyone is so inclined.

Funnily enough these are some of my favorites as well….

I’m having a frustrating amount of Posing Hesitancy Troubles right now…let’s see if this post helps… :D

senshi stock is my favorite <3

“Why am I so much more creative when I’m tired?”

martwhim:

This also translates into:

  • “Why am I so motivated when it’s really late?”
  • “The best time to make ideas is through sleep deprivation!”
  • “I want to do so much more right before bed and I don’t understand why!”
  • etc.

So basically when you stay up way too late it effects your problem solving ability and your ability to make decisions. [1]

Do you want to know a possible reason as to why that “I stayed up really late and now I feel so creative and willing to draw!” feeling happens?  Because your self-critique center is shutting down because you’ve been awake for too long.

You are always as creative and able to do things as you were when you were awake.  That potential doesn’t just disappear.

Difference is— when you’re wide awake you have a stronger problem-solving and decision-making center, which is obviously related to self-critique.  Being tired doesn’t necessarily make you more creative and motivated, being tired forces you to quiet that part of yourself that holds you back.

Something to think about.

Kiana Hayeri grew up in Tehran, where the country’s morality police restricted her public behavior. She left in 2005 when she was 17 and moved to Toronto, where she studied photography at Ryerson University.

Her project’s title, “Your Veil Is A Battleground,” refers not just to the hijab covering — or not covering — their heads in public, which is law under the islamic republic, but also to the hidden nature of their private lives. It goes beyond the restrictions placed on women in public or their private rebellion. Ms. Hayeri also explores how the women choose to present themselves in public.

“It’s a whole world that many Americans are unaware of,” she said. “Nowadays, with all this talk about war, sanctions and nuclear weapons, people tend to forget about ordinary people, the actual people who live in Iran, and they only look at the government.”

“This is the generation that is trying to push the boundaries in every sense.”

Reblogging because I can’t stop looking at the pictures.

WTS: A Tutorial Masterpost

blackfemalesuperheroes:

norisus:

I said that I’d show some tutorials I have saved up to someone, but decided that I’d just go ahead and post most of what I have stored away and create a sort of masterpost out of it. (I figure it’ll help me just as much since, as of now, they’re all pretty scattered between my Tumblr and bookmarks)

A lot of these are hosted on my personal Tumblr, but I don’t change my url so it’s pretty safe to bookmark them there (and not have to worry about the url changing) if you don’t wish to reblog them yourself for whatever reason.

highwarlockofaustralia asked: ARGHH. okay, how do you go about varnishing babushka dolls? i know i use oil varnish (which is quite hard to find in australia, and where i live, and damn expensive), but is there a proper process involved?

I’m not sure, but if anyone has suggestions, feel free to send an ask/reply! I would google it, but I imagine you’ve looked through the basic search results for it already.
